アクティブなスピーカーとパッシブスピーカーの違いは何ですか?

2023-05-04

An active loudspeaker is a loudspeaker system with a built-in power amplifier. It can be directly connected to audio signal sources, such as mobile phones, computers, MP3 players, etc., and can play sound without an external power amplifier. Passive loudspeakers do not have a built-in power amplifier and need an external power amplifier to work properly.

1. Sound quality difference

Generally speaking, active loudspeakers will optimize the power amplifier and loudspeaker as a whole during design. Since the internal power amplifier and loudspeaker are well matched, the stability and consistency of the sound can be guaranteed to a certain extent. However, due to cost and space constraints, the power amplifier part of active loudspeakers is usually simpler, and may not provide very high power and delicate sound quality, and may be relatively limited in the extension of high and low frequencies.

Passive loudspeakers have greater potential in sound quality. Because different power amplifiers can be selected according to different needs, which is what audiophiles call DIY, to achieve more personalized sound quality adjustment. High-end passive loudspeakers generally use better speaker units and cabinet materials, which can provide better sound quality restoration, higher resolution and wider dynamic range.

2. Difference in materials

In order to control cost and volume, the cabinet materials of active loudspeakers are usually plastic or medium-density fiberboard (MDF). The size and quality of the speaker unit may also be limited.

The cabinet materials of passive loudspeakers can be more sophisticated, providing better acoustic performance and stability. The choice of speaker units is also more extensive, and high-quality units can be selected according to different sound quality requirements, such as titanium film tweeters, paper cone bass, etc.

3. Difference in use

Active loudspeakers are easy to connect. You only need to connect the audio signal source to the loudspeaker to use it. For users who are not familiar with loudspeaker equipment, the operation is relatively simple. Due to the built-in amplifier, active loudspeakers are usually small and light, easy to place and carry. Suitable for use in environments with limited space such as desktops and bedrooms.

Passive loudspeakers require external amplifiers, and the connection is relatively complicated. Users need to have a certain understanding of loudspeaker equipment in order to correctly select and connect the amplifier. Passive loudspeakers are usually larger and less portable, but they can perform better in fixed places such as home theaters and professional recording studios.
